Success in Knokke & European Championships Zuidwolde

A couple of weeks ago Simon received the delightful news that he had been selected for the Belgian Young Rider team for the European Championships. 

After good results in both Hagen and Valkenswaard, he still had the option to decide between Perigrosso and Vivolta de Gree. After consideration with all members of the team, it was agreed that Vivolta would be most compatible. 

As preparation for both Simon and his horses, the team went down to CSI Knokke.

The weekend ended with a fantastic victory in the 2** GP with Perigrosso under the saddle. 

The week after Simon went down to Zuidwolde where the Youth European Championships took place.

The courses were tough, and the competition was high... but the Belgian team (Zoe Conter, Gilles Thomas, Dieter Vermeiren & Maartje Verberckmoes) showed their worth and took home the silver medal! 

Simon and Vivolta contributed greatly with a clear first round. 

He was selected for the individual final (top 30) and still managed to climb up 10 positions, finishing his first Young Rider European Championships with 14th place. 

Now it's time for a little summer break for both riders as horses.
